A Norway Story
After having landed in Tromsø in northern Norway, we decided we weren’t north enough. On our five hour night-drive through the arctic circle to Nordkapp, the northernmost point of mainland Europe, a faint green cloud gradually materialized in the distant sky. We watched through the windshield as we drove across the empty highway, until the glow turned into a full lightshow. We pulled over and stood out on the snowy ground, our gazes fixed upwards at the dancing emerald hues directly overhead. That night, we learned the aurora has a mind of its own, as dynamic and vibrant as life itself, and we watched it shift in spirals and waves until it moved on to another sky.
